Medway Council is working on a Green and Blue Infrastructure strategy to protect and strengthen our natural environmental assets and resources.
The Green and Blue Infrastructure strategy will consider the diversity of Medway’s environment and the different benefits provided to wildlife and people. The work will promote policies and projects to secure the quality of the environment and achieve a net gain for biodiversity.
This strategy will be an important component of the evidence base for the new Medway Local Plan, setting out how we will plan for nature as part of the vision and objectives for Medway’s future.
We are organising a couple of workshops to feed in information for the preparation of the Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy. We will be presenting our current work on a vision for Green and Blue infrastructure in Medway, and then breaking into groups to discuss issues, opportunities for projects, cross border links, policies and priorities.
We are holding a workshop for parish councils, neighbourhood planning committees, community groups and local people with interests in environmental issues on the afternoon of Thursday 4 July 2019 1.45 pm to 4.45pm at Chattenden Community Centre (Small Hall), Swinton Avenue, Rochester, Kent ME3 8PH
