Apr 2020: Congratulations to Medway Council and Norse who have stopped using herbicides on some our roads and path edges. Using hand tools and clearing up the arisings means that environment is that bit safer for us and our wildlife.
Not only that the end result is a much tidier job without dead and decaying vegetation being left in the gutters and edges of paths.
We can use this lesson in our own gardens, A sharp hoe and a stiff brush can deal with any unwanted vegetation and saves the cost of buying chemicals and saves the environment.
The campaign to stop the use of herbicides in our greenspaces goes on. Please sign the online petition through the Medway Council website, or download a paper version for printing, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
