The Tree and Woodland Strategy is an exciting project aiming to set out the case for Medway’s urban and rural forest. It will set out ambitious plans for trees and woodlands across Medway and show how important they are for people, wildlife, climate change, air quality and health.

Understanding where existing trees are (or are not) is a really important baseline needed to protect what is there and set future targets.  We would therefore like to establish the current percentage tree canopy cover in Medway and plot the location of these trees.  This is quite a big undertaking and so we are seeking your support to help record this data – all you need is access to the internet and a bit of time!  Click here for more information.

A training session on how to use i-Tree Canopy, an online software package which can be used to record tree canopy data, will take place via Zoom on Saturday 11th July 2020.

If you would like to take part, please do email the organisers to book your place and you will be sent a link to the Zoom session.  Please note that attending the training session does not put you under any obligation to continue your involvement in the project if you would like to see how it all works before you decide!
