Following the huge success of the Medway i-tree survey this summer the preliminary results are now available. Sharon Bayne, the environmental consultant who co-ordinated the work, gave us a presentation at the recent Forum meeting which shows that Medway as whole has 16.5% tree cover over all, with 20.9% in our urban areas.
The survey also shows very clearly how important our trees are for our environment; helping to reduce air pollution, take up carbon from the atmosphere, support our biodiversity and benefit our health and wellbeing.
The Powerpoint presentation is below and the full report will be available soon.
