The survey is designed to find out well our garden butterflies are doing. As well as being beautiful to see fluttering around our parks and gardens, the number and variety of butterflies we have is an indicator of the health of our environment. Each species has its own particular requirements; places to lay eggs, sun or shade and sources of nectar for feeding. It easy to create the right conditions for them in our gardens and help to boost their populations.

Once you have logged on with your garden submitting results is very straightforward so why not join in and help us to monitor these wonderful creatures.
